"Clamdiggers Beachscape" is a watercolor painting. This was my first time I had witnessed Razor Clam digging on a long stretch of beach in the Pacific Northwest. I had walked the day before this event, all along this beach, with not a soul in sight. To my amazement, the very next morning, at 5am, all these people flocked here to do their clam digging! I was fascinated by the diggers reflections as long, colorful shadows. The wet sand was like glass that reflected the colors of the early morning sky. There were many lumps of dark sand from all the digging with the clam guns and shovels..Thus "Clamdiggers Beachscape" was both experienced and created...
It has been both a spiritual and emotional journey for me, from childhood on, that I'm an artist today. My paintings always start with a prayer. I have particularly enjoyed painting with watercolors and at times with oils. I give a lot of credit to my own terrific Dad, for his encouragement to grow up “Free to be, whom one is meant to be”…. The freedom to be an artist, that is always seeking, was constantly supported. I have enjoyed connecting with others through the paintings and embracing the places where I live. I've enjoyed challenging myself to express the wonderful world we all inhabit. Painting watercolors and oils are my way to express a need to glorify creation and my creator. I enjoy playing with photography as well....
