Artist's Description

"Daffodil Spray" is a watercolor painting. My daughter gave me this appealing fish gulping pitcher as a gift. I have adored it's beauty, both in form and function, along with the fun "gulping' sound, that occurs as one pours liquid from it as a pitcher. It is Springtime and I have gathered these delightful daffodils that were planted in my yard, a long time ago, from the base of a large tree. These two elements seemed to go together, to make up an invigorating still life for me to paint! Sometimes flower arrangements are called "sprays". It did occur to me that with the Fish subject, along with a Spray of Daffodils, that it might be enhanced with some loose water droplets as well. Thus, giving the subject a "fountain spray waterfall" effect. The verse, I want to attach to this painting, that inspires me is Job 12:8... "Speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you" God's Creation points to Him as the Creator. This painting is a People's Choice winner!

About Cynthia Pride

Cynthia Pride

It has been both a spiritual and emotional journey for me, from childhood on, that I'm an artist today. My paintings always start with a prayer. I have particularly enjoyed painting with watercolors and at times with oils. I give a lot of credit to my own terrific Dad, for his encouragement to grow up “Free to be, whom one is meant to be”…. The freedom to be an artist, that is always seeking, was constantly supported. I have enjoyed connecting with others through the paintings and embracing the places where I live. I've enjoyed challenging myself to express the wonderful world we all inhabit. Painting watercolors and oils are my way to express a need to glorify creation and my creator. I enjoy playing with photography as well....
