"Passing Through" is a watercolor painting. I spent the day to myself on this beach, which is in the very corner of Southwest Washington State. It is part of the Cape Disappointment State Park. The Jetty in the distant part of this painting, separates Washington State and Oregon State, with the massive Columbia River, flowing out to meet the Pacific Ocean, between the two. It was a dramatic, windy day, with the offshore winds causing lots of spray off the looming waves. Thus, came the challenge for me, as an artist, to capture this fleeting, beautiful scene. I was reminded, with my footprints, how the day, the waves, the seagulls, the sunshine and myself with my footprints, are all just passing through these moments in time..We are all Pilgrims passing though life...the original painting is a People's Choice winner!... Blessings! <3
It has been both a spiritual and emotional journey for me, from childhood on, that I'm an artist today. My paintings always start with a prayer. I have particularly enjoyed painting with watercolors and at times with oils. I give a lot of credit to my own terrific Dad, for his encouragement to grow up “Free to be, whom one is meant to be”…. The freedom to be an artist, that is always seeking, was constantly supported. I have enjoyed connecting with others through the paintings and embracing the places where I live. I've enjoyed challenging myself to express the wonderful world we all inhabit. Painting watercolors and oils are my way to express a need to glorify creation and my creator. I enjoy playing with photography as well....
