"Evelyn" is a watercolor painting. The David Austin English Rose, Evelyn, looks marvelous and smells heavenly! This was my very first English rose in my garden, that came into bloom. As it unfolded, I knew it was a painting to try to do, dewdrops and all. Evelyn was also my grandmother and great grandmother's name, and this is a lovely way for me to always remember them!
It has been both a spiritual and emotional journey for me, from childhood on, that I'm an artist today. My paintings always start with a prayer. I have particularly enjoyed painting with watercolors and at times with oils. I give a lot of credit to my own terrific Dad, for his encouragement to grow up “Free to be, whom one is meant to be”…. The freedom to be an artist, that is always seeking, was constantly supported. I have enjoyed connecting with others through the paintings and embracing the places where I live. I've enjoyed challenging myself to express the wonderful world we all inhabit. Painting watercolors and oils are my way to express a need to glorify creation and my creator. I enjoy playing with photography as well....

Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments. I slipped the word "God" into my bio. Who knows! lol I chose to reply via this painting because it is my absolute favorite! I will be in Seattle all day on Friday and hope to drive straight to Ocean Park for the 6 pm class. Don't worry if I am not there on time. I will get there as soon as I can.
